Team member support and engagement

We have a culture that inspires an active and caring group of team members who selflessly give of their time and resources, making a real difference in their communities on a daily basis and in times of need or crisis.

Volunteerism

We encourage team members across the enterprise to get involved by offering their time to support programs that improve health, enhance well-being, and benefit communities around the world. We offer paid Volunteer Time Off for many employees. For example, team members based in the United States or Canada receive eight hours of annual paid Volunteer Time Off for full-time team members and four hours for part-time team members. In FY24, we offered virtual and in-person service opportunities to our team members who made a commitment to volunteer in their communities.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Team members in 39 Cencora locations across the United States engaged in our annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) campaign. Throughout August, team members hosted creative lemonade stands, raising more than $45,000. With a 200 percent match by the Cencora Impact Foundation, our total combined donation to ALSF to fight childhood cancer was nearly $136,000 for this initiative — a 95 percent increase over last year.

Triose, a part of Cencora, became a corporate sponsor of ALSF more than one decade ago and participates in their Million Mile initiative by walking, running, and cycling. In FY24, Cencora’s global headquarters also hosted the sold-out inaugural Cencora 5K Run/1-mile Walk in support of ALSF’s vision of a cure for all children with cancer.

Getting active for good causes

World Courier’s Worldwide Walkers Challenge returned in FY24 with a focus on enhancing team members’ mental and physical well-being while giving back. The challenge brought together nearly 600 team members from around the world — more than double FY23 — who collectively took 128+ million steps throughout the month of May. With the determined team members far surpassing their goal of 85 million steps, the Cencora Impact Foundation made a donation to the Cencora Team Assistance Fund in their honor.

Team members from Alloga and Alliance Healthcare UK collectively fundraised more than £100,000 for charitable partners that address mental health, youth welfare, and childhood malnutrition, including 4Louis, Mental Health UK, Theodora Children’s Charity, and Vitamin Angels. In FY24, dedicated team members throughout the UK creatively raised funds through numerous friendly competitions including the annual Charity Sports Championship, Family Fun Day event, and Race the Sun, which combined cycling, canoeing, and hiking along the scenic Jurassic Coast in support of Action Medical Research for children. MWI Animal Health also embraced team members’ competitive spirits and hosted its annual golf tournament in Idaho, United States, raising $34,000 that was donated to charitable organizations, including two Cencora Impact Foundation partners: Not One More Vet (NOMV) and the National FFA Foundation.

In FY24, PharmaLex Nordics organized its annual day of cycling for the 19th year to encourage the whole company to pedal their total commute with a donation made to charity for every kilometer logged. More than half of the local team members participated and cycled a total of 1,500+ kilometers, resulting in a charitable donation to the John Nurminen Foundation, which protects the Baltic Sea’s marine nature and cultural heritage.

myCommunityImpact

We believe in supporting our team members around the world in giving back to the causes that matter most to them through myCommunityImpact — Cencora’s matching gifts and volunteer/board service grant programs — supported by the Cencora Impact Foundation. At the start of FY24, myCommunityImpact was made available to Alliance Healthcare team members, furthering Cencora’s commitment to expanding our global impact. Together with our Cencora global team members, we collectively donated more than $1.6 million to nonprofit organizations via our myCommunityImpact matching gifts and volunteer/board service grants program.

Matching gifts

The Cencora Impact Foundation matches 100 percent of team member donations to any qualified nonprofit organization, and up to 200 percent to select organizations during special campaigns throughout the year, such as the annual Season of Giving winter holiday campaign, or in response to emergencies like the hurricanes in the southeastern United States.

Volunteer/ board service grants

The Cencora Impact Foundation provides a $750 grant for every 20 hours of volunteer time and $1,500 for 40 hours of volunteer time by team members with qualified organizations. Team members serving on a nonprofit board can also receive a $1,500 grant to that organization.

Cencora Team Assistance Fund

The Cencora Team Assistance Fund (formerly the AmerisourceBergen Associate Assistance Fund) is a nonprofit charitable organization established in 2012 to provide financial assistance to our team members and their families who are experiencing severe financial hardship due to a qualifying event such as a natural disaster or a severe injury or illness.

Amplifying our impact globally

At the close of FY24, Cencora hosted the inaugural global Month of Impact initiative aimed at amplifying our collective impact, which engaged nearly 500 team members across 10 Cencora locations worldwide. Our teams worked with several nonprofit partners on a variety of volunteer activities, including creating enrichment toys for shelter dogs and cats, supporting college students with interview prep, and assembling veteran affairs hospital care kits. Teams in both the United States and the United Kingdom partnered with the Happy Hope Foundation to make activity kits and buddy bags for hospitalized children. The team in Costa Rica mentored diverse entrepreneurs on business and marketing skills in partnership with the Omar Dengo Foundation.

The Cencora Business Services (CBS) team in Lithuania once again gave back to two valued partners. In support of the Vilnius Region Family and Child Well-being Center “Vilniaus rajono šeimos ir vaiko gerovės centre,” team members packed school supply kits and handwrote notes for each student as they prepared for the school year. The CBS Lithuania team also returned to clean apartments at Mothers’ Union “Mamu unija,” an organization that provides support and housing to families whose children are facing cancer.
